FAQ

What is the basis of the technology?

The technology used reduces the expanded polymer to a vicous state utilising controlled heat or friction. The melted material is recovered in trays which when cooled can be easily stored prior to sale and shipment.

Why has this Japanese technology not been available in the past in Europe?

With the increasing emphasis on recycling as the preferred option across Europe and the ever increasing cost of disposal, this technology is now the most cost-effective solution for the recycling of these materials.

Why have the Japanese been the first to develop these technologies?

Japan has been very rigorous on environmental regulation since the mid-80s, with all landfill closed by the 90s and use of incineration severely restricted. This has made the development of innovative technologies to recycle plastic packaging waste a necessity. The technologies that PPR Europe represents have as a result been tried and tested and developed over twenty years!

We have been offered new recycling technologies in the past, they have not worked, or we can’t do anything with the output?

PPR Europe recognises this and has expressly set-up a trading business to buy the polymer blocks produced by our customers’ machines for onward sale to plastics manufacturers worldwide. Thus providing the complete solution!

How can I find out more, or see the machines working?

Please contact us and we will send you more information on our technology and the range of machines available, and discuss with you your specific requirements. We can also arrange site visits for you in Europe or Japan, depending on the specific machine type that you require.
